One Year Post Graduate Diploma Course on

Food and Drug Safety

Conducted by Department of Microbiology, Lady Brabourne College

The Course was introduced in July 2011. The Syllabus of this Post Graduate Vocational Course is designed in such a way that the candidate will develop the expertise to work for Food Analysis, Food Processing or Food Manufacturing in the industry/testing and research laboratory as well as for Drug Analysis in the industry/testing and research laboratory. The Course has been sponsored by University Grants Commission and the diploma will be conferred by University of Calcutta.

Eligibility: B.Sc.(Pass/Honours)/M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Food and Nutrition/ Microbiology and other subjects of Life Science.

An international seminar 'Beyond the Veil: Muslim Women in South Asia' is being organized by the Women's Studies Centre of Lady Brabourne College and the Dept. of History of Diamond Harbour Women's University, on Thursday, 24th August 2017 at Lady Brabourne College. The seminar aims to discuss and deliberate on Muslim women in South Asia from a gender-sensitive socio-historical perspective.

We welcome paper presentations (of approximately 2000 words) in Bengali/English from academicians, research scholars and students on the proposed topic that may include, but need not necessarily be restricted to the following themes:

  1. Socio-economic Status of Muslim Women in Pre-Colonial/Post-Colonial South Asia
  2. Muslim Women and Education
  3. Muslim Women in Political Movements
  4. Muslim Women and Creativity
  5. Muslim Women: Displacement and Conflict
  6. Muslim Women and Law
