NOTICE  FOR  ADMISSION  TO  M.Sc./M.A IN  GEOGRAPHY  2008

• Candidates whose names are published in the List in the First List are requested to come and submit their original mark sheets between 10.30 a.m and 11.30 a.m. on 19.8.08. Candidates will be admitted according to the available vacancies on the basis of merit.
   

• Candidates coming for admission must submit the following documents in the Department of Geography on the above date:

1. Applicant’s copy of the application challan duly stamped at the time of payment of application fee.

2. Original mark sheet of B.Sc./B.A. Part I, II, III (as applicable) Examination for Geography (Hons).

3. Original SC/ST certificate.

4. Two photographs of the candidate being admitted (with name of the candidate written at the back).

5. The structure of fees to be submitted at the time of admission is displayed on the college notice board.

SPECIAL NOTICE FOR ALL CANDIDATES
SEEKING ADMISSION IN POST-GRADUATE COURSES ON 19.8.08

• Each candidate is to be accompanied by a Guardian/Parent who will be permitted to enter the college premises after the completion of the admission formalities if and when the candidate is granted admission.
   

• Guardian/Parent will be summoned to the Geography Department to sign the admission form after the candidate has been granted admission.

Department of Microbiology

Admission forms for M. Sc. in Microbiology will be available from the department
from 25. 07.08(Friday) – 29.07.08 (Tuesday) except Sunday.

Time for form Distribution:  11:30 a. m. – 2:30 p.m.

Criteria: 50% in Microbiology Honours

Form Fees: Rs. 250

Last Date for Submission: 30.07.08

An admission test shall be conducted on 31.07.08(Thursday) from 11:30 a. m. – 12:30 p.m.

The final merit list shall be prepared according to the Index Marks.

Index Marks= 60% University Marks + 40% admission Test marks.

The list of the selected candidates will be published on the web and college notice board
on 2.08.08 after 12:30 p. m.

Admission Forms for M.Sc in Pure Physics will be available at the Physics Department between 11:00 am -  02:00 pm from 28^th July to 2^nd August, 2008 (excluding 30^th July).

No. of seats (for women only)  - 15

Eligibility criteria – B.Sc. degree with at least  52% marks in Physics (Honours) of any recognized university of India
 

Duly filled up forms are to be submitted in the department

Last date of submission of forms –  6^th August, 2008

Department of  MATHEMATICS

Distribution of Application Forms:

Application forms for admission to M.Sc. course in Mathematics will be available from the Department of Mathematics, Lady Brabourne College, Kolkata on the production of original marksheets of B.A./B.Sc.(Hons) examinations on the following dates:

25.07.08, 26.07.08, 29.07.08, 31.07.08 from 11.30 p.m -  2.30 p.m

Eligibility Criterion:

Marks obtained by the applicant(general) in the last B.A/BSc.(Hons) examination should be at least 45%.
For Sc/ST candidate the minimum marks is 40%.

She should pass B.A/B.Sc. examination not earlier than 2007.

Submission of Application Forms:

Completed application forms for admission to M.Sc. in Mathematics are to be submitted in the drop box placed in the Department of Mathematics on the following dates:

25.07.08, 26.07.08, 28.07.08, 29.07.08, 31.07.08, 1.08.08 from 11.30 p.m - 4.00 p.m

Interview and Allied Application Test:

There will be an interview and oral test for a set of candidates on 4.08.08. The list of candidates selected for the interview will be put up on the College Notice Board and Web site on 2.08.08.
