Her area of interest is gender studies. She has a number of publications on gender related issues in various books and journals. She has also completed one UGC Project on Cultural Plurality and Persistence of Ethnic Identity: A Case Study of an Urban Trading Locality,2006-2008. Her ongoing project under Women Studies Research Project is Empowerment of women in West Bengal: A case Study.
