Admission to the 3- year degree course (B.A./B.Sc) 2009

 

Admission 2009 shall be conducted online.

 

Admission forms shall be available at

All information regarding admission forms and online submission

shall be available on this page and under the
'Notice Board' link.

 

Students from all boards such as ISC, CBSE, Council of Higher Secondary Education West Bengal and different boards of other states in India are eligible for admission to this college. Overseas students are also welcome.

 

Admission forms will be available on the designated site.

  • Applicants are required to deposit application fees at any core banking branch of SBI through cash/cheque or transfer of fund on presentation of challan (Bank copy) which can be downloaded after submitting forms online. All details relating to fees submissions will be available in due course.

  • Candidates must ensure that the application number, name of the student, course and amount paid is entered at the bank counter while making payment.

  • Each candidate can apply for a maximum of four subjects

  • For hostel accommodation candidates are required to check the hostel option on each form

  • Admission is conducted strictly on the basis of merit.

  • An admission test will be conducted for English (Hons.), Economics (Hons.) and Sociology (Hons.). An interview will be called for students applying for Microbiology (Hons.)

  • Direct Admission can be sought to the Persian (Hons.) course.

  • Final list of the selected students will be available on the notice boards (college & this site).

  • There is no provision for admission to pure general courses.

  1. Sociology and Sanskrit cannot be taken together as general subjects.

  2. *Core English to be considered in case of C.B.S.E. candidates. Alternative English to be offered as a subject only to those who did not have Bengali/Hindi/Urdu at the H.S. level.

  3. Languages: - Two languages have to be selected of which English is Compulsory along with Bengali / Urdu / Hindi / Alt. English.

  4. In 1st year a compulsory paper of 50 marks on Environment Studies has to be offered for the Part – I (new) B.A. / B.Sc. Examination.

Documents required for admission (Arts and Science)
  1. Original Mark-sheet must be produced at the time of admission. Laminated Mark-sheets will not be entertained.

  2. At the time of admission, the original mark-sheet and admit card along with the attested ones must be submitted.
    Mark-sheet is to be attested by the Head of institution last attended / Gazetted Officers.

  3. Original SC/ST certificate in the candidates' name must be submitted by SC/ST candidates along with attested ones at the time of admission.  

  4. For physically handicapped candidates, original certificate in the candidates' name along with the attested ones must be submitted  at the time of admission.

N.B

(i) We regret to inform that faculty members are unable to attest any documents.

(ii)  Hostel seats are limited .Admission to an academic course does not ensure hostel accommodation.

Notice for S.C / S.T Candidates

"... Clarified that the Scheduled caste / Scheduled tribe person on migration from the state of his origin to another state will not lose his status as Scheduled caste / Scheduled tribe but he will be entitled to the concessions / benefits admissible to the Scheduled castes / Scheduled tribes from the state of his origin and not from the state where he has migrated..."

Notification of Government of West Bengal in Admitting the Candidates of S.C and S.T
  • 40% in aggregate or 40% marks in concerned subjects in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination for admission to honours courses as stipulated by the Calcutta University in the letter no. CSR/84/2001. Dt.11.04.01
     

  • A S/C or S/T candidate getting admission should have in the previous examination qualifying marks which are not lower by more than 25% from the marks obtained by the last candidate of the general category in case of honours courses only.
